Ten more charged with breaking curfew

Yesterday, ten more persons headed to the magistrates’ courts charged with breaking curfew, and up to press time six were already behind bars having pled guilty to the offence.

They will join two earlier violators in spending between six months to a year at Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds. One individual pled not guilty and was remanded.

The ten were arrested over the weekend by police officers stopping and questioning persons on the streets after curfew. Several had additional charges, including one man known to the law courts, who was charged with burglary and breaking curfew and was sentenced to a year on each charge to run concurrently.
